What is the problem with Complete® MoisturePlus™?

Acanthamoeba Keratitis is becoming more prevalent amongst people who wear contact lenses, especially soft lenses. Contact lens wearers make up 85% of those suffering from Acanthamoeba Keratitis. The CDC estimates that those who use Complete MoisturePlus are seven times more likely to develop Acanthamoeba Keratitis than those using other solutions. Acanthamoeba Keratitis affects otherwise healthy people and can result in permanent vision loss. Acanthamoeba keratitis is an infection of the cornea caused by a minuscule water-borne ameba. It is often misdiagnosed and confused for other bacteria or viruses such as herpes. Early diagnosis by a qualified medical professional is essential for effective treatment of Acanthamoeba Keratitis.
