What is the problem with Seroquel?

Seroquel was approved to patients who suffered from schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. It was also prescribed for off-label use in the treatment of autism, sleep disorders, alcoholism, restless leg syndrome, and post traumatic stress disorder. In 2003, the FDA asked all manufacturers of atypical antipsychotic medications to add a warning statement describing the increased risk of hyperglycemia and diabetes in patients taking these medications, including Seroquel.
