What is the problem with the Yamaha Rhino ATV?

With the popularity of ATV’s, the number of accidents occurring has risen over the years and in most instances you can attribute these accidents to driver error and/or dangerous riding, however "in the case of the Yamaha Rhino ATV, these injuries can be directly linked to the manufacturer’s hazardous design defects."

The Yamaha Rhino ATV has an exceptional tendency to roll over during turns, even at low speeds, due to its design defects. Some of these design defects include high center of gravity, small wheels, and Narrow wheelbase / frame. The Yamaha Rhino has also been accused of providing insufficient protection for its drivers and passengers. Even though Yamaha has been aware for years of serious injuries and deaths of drivers and passengers in rollover accidents, they have yet to modify these design defects. However, Yamaha has since begun offering the free installation of plastic doors and passenger-side handles to ATV’s manufactured after 2004. The doors are meant to prevent riders from sticking out arms or legs during rollover accidents. In addition, Yamaha added a warning label to new Rhinos telling buyers of this potential risk of rollover and crushing injuries with the Rhino.

Rhino drivers and passengers have suffered serious injuries including broken or crushed legs, ankles or feet, amputation, and even death in some cases when they became trapped and crushed under the Rhino.
