Erbs’s palsy (also known as a shoulder dystocia or a brachial plexus injury) is an injury that most often occurs during the birthing process. This particular birth injury is usually preventable. Erb’s palsy is a paralysis of the arm caused by injury to the upper group of the arm’s main nerves. The severity of the injury can vary greatly.
