INIU Power Banks Recalled After $380,000 in Fire Damage

In December 2025, INIU, an Amazon seller based in Seattle, Washington, recalled about 210,000 power banks that can potentially overheat, catch on fire, ignite, or explode unexpectedly.

What is the Problem?

The recalled power banks contain a defective lithium-ion battery, which poses a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries to consumers. There have also been reports of significant property damage.

How Many People Were Burned?

INIU Portable Power Banks have been linked to 3 burn injuries, 11 reports of fires and over $380,000 in damage, according to the recall:

“INIU has received 15 reports of power banks overheating, including 11 reports of fires that resulted in three minor burn injuries and property damage totaling over $380,000.”

How To Identify INIU Power Banks

The recall involves INIU Portable Power Banks with Model BI-B41 in black or blue. These power banks may have been purchased online on Amazon.com between August 2021 and April 2022.

The INIU logo and a paw-print LED light are on the front of the power banks. The serial number and model are on the back, at the bottom.

The recall only includes INIU Power Banks with the following serial numbers:

  • 000G21
  • 000H21
  • 000I21
  • 000L21

INIU is urging customers to check their serial number on the recall website: https://iniushop.com/pages/recall-b41.

Can I Get a Refund?

Yes. If your power bank is affected by the recall, immediately stop using it. You can register for a refund by contacting INIU to upload photos and verify eligibility. INIU is offering compensation equal to your original purchase price, issued as a refund or Amazon gift card.
