Overview
Nuplazid (pimavanserin) is a medication developed by Acadia Pharmaceuticals to reduce hallucinations and psychosis in patients with Parkinson’s disease. It was approved by the FDA in April 2016.
Severe Side Effects of Nuplazid
Studies show that over 8% of patients on Nuplazid experience severe side effects. In its first year on the market, there were over 2,000 reports of death, hallucinations, falls, insomnia, nausea, and fatigue.
Over 700 Deaths Linked to Nuplazid
In November 2017, the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) released a report linking Nuplazid to 244 deaths. After only 2 years on the market, Nuplazid was linked to over 700 deaths.
