What is the problem with Plavix?
Plavix, a popular anti-platelet drug and the sixth top selling drug in the United States, has recently been linked to serious side effects. Approved by the FDA in 1997, Plavix was thought to be a better alternative to aspirin for greater cardiovascular benefits as well as being easier on the patient’s stomach. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. The New England Journal has found that the combination of Plavix and Aspirin increases, instead of decreases, the risk of death, heart attack or stroke in people with no history of heart disease. Plavix also puts a patient at greater risk of developing gastrointestinal and cerebral bleeding and ulcers.
Side Effects of Plavix
