Mike Schmidt, founder of The Schmidt Firm, PLLC and Partner in Schmidt & Clark LLP, has been appointed to the position of Vice Chairman of the New Mexico State Chapter of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one the most prestigious legal associations in North America.
Mike Schmidt has been a Fellow with the American College of Trial Lawyers since 2001. Founded in 1950, the College is recognized as the preeminent organization of trial attorneys in the United States and Canada, dedicated to maintaining and improving the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice.
The College is comprised of the best trial attorneys in the nation. Membership is extended by invitation only, and only after careful consideration, to experienced trial attorneys whose professional careers have been marked with the highest standards of legal advocacy, ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality.
From his humble roots in West Texas, Mike Schmidt graduated from the Southern Methodist University School of Law in May 1965 and went on to build a career and a law firm that is nationwide in scope.
Starting as a defense lawyer and moving to the Plaintiff’s side around 1990, he has a full understanding of both sides of the legal spectrum.

Mike Schmidt is married to the renowned sculptor Glenna Goodacre. The couple splits their time between their homes in Dallas, Texas, and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
