January 24, 2020 — A former ER doctor was arrested on suspicion of sexual assaulting a co-worker at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Dr. Anshul M. Gandhi was arrested on January 22 on suspicion of one felony count of forced oral copulation. He was released early the next day after posting $100,000 bond, according to LAPD booking data.
He is accused of sexually assaulting a former co-worker at her apartment in downtown Los Angeles.
NBCLA spoke with multiple employees at Cedars Sinai who said that several women had come forward to report sexual misconduct involving Dr. Gandhi.
Cedars Sinai said he was never an employee, but he did work in the emergency department as a contract physician.
Dr. Gandhi’s defense attorney, Michael Kraut, accused the victim of “absolutely making this story up” and said Dr. Gandhi voluntarily resigned earlier this month due to the “hostile environment.”
