INMO Air3 Smart Glasses Recalled After 10 Overheating Reports

In September 2026, INMO International Technology Ltd. announced a voluntary recall for about 1,643 INMO Air3 Smart Glasses due to a risk of serious burn injuries or death.

The recall also includes about 120 glasses that were sold in Canada, where a recall was announced by Health Canada. No incidents or injuries were reported in Canada.

What Is the Problem?

The recalled smart glasses were advertised for a variety of AI-assisted uses, including language translation, productivity, and media streaming. They were also advertised and sold on Kickstarter.

The problem is that the glasses can overheat and potentially burn users. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):

“The left temple of the recalled smart glasses can overheat during extended use, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to burn hazard.”

The left temple is the part of the glasses that rests against the side of a user’s head and over their ear. If the glasses overheat, they can potentially burn users on the face, forehead, or ear.

How Many People Were Injured?

There were no reports of any serious burn injuries, but INMO did receive 10 reports of the glasses overheating. INMO said these included “reports of a burning sensation to the face and the left side of the ear.”

How To Identify Recalled Smart Glasses

  • Model number: AIR3
  • Color: Black
  • Label: “AIR3” and “INMO” printed on a label on the right temple
  • Made in: China

Where Were They Sold?

The recalled INMO Smart Glasses were sold on Amazon.com, Inmoxr.com, and Kickstarter.com between December 2025 and August 2026, with prices ranging from about $900 to $1,300.

Can I Get a Refund?

No. Instead of a refund, INMO is offering a free repair. INMO will assist users in updating the glasses’ system to version V3.16 online.

INMO’s recall page is asking customers to send a photo of the glasses, an order number if available, and the purchase channel.
