FDA Links Limbrel and Life-Threatening Lung and Liver Problems
In December 2017, the FDA issued a Safety Alert for Limbrel and warned consumers not to use it due to the risk of life-threatening side effects. The FDA also asked the manufacturer, Primus Pharmaceuticals, to recall Limbrel on November 30, but it was not taken off the market.
Limbrel Side Effects
The FDA has received nearly 200 reports of people who had serious health problems after taking Limbrel. Those side effects include liver damage, which can permanently reduce liver function. Limbrel is also linked to a lung condition called “hypersensitivity pneumonitis,” which causes inflammation in the lungs and can lead to permanent scarring.
What is the problem?
The Schmidt Firm, PLLC is nationally recognized as a class action law firm, but our lawyers are not filing a Limbrel class action lawsuit. Instead, we are filing individual lawsuits for people who were diagnosed with liver damage, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, or other severe side effects.
About Class Actions
In most cases, class action lawsuits are filed by 1 person on behalf of everyone else in their state who has the same legal claim. If compensation is awarded through a settlement or verdict, everyone in the class action shares the payout.
Why Our Law Firm is Filing Individual Lawsuits as Opposed to a Class Action
If one person is very seriously injured, class actions can have disadvantages. The members who join the class action lawsuit may have to accept a “low-ball” settlement or higher fees.
Our lawyers specialize in filing lawsuits against corporations selling defective medications. We are filing individual Limbrel lawsuits so we can focus on representing people who suffered very severe side effects. If you decide to file a lawsuit, we may be able to help you seek compensation for your injury, medical expenses, and more.
