OxyElite Pro Banned on U.S. Military Bases After Soldier Deaths
The original formula of OxyElite Pro listed DMAA on the ingredient label as “1,3-Dimethylamylamine” or “geranium stem.” Experts generally agree that there is no credible evidence linking DMAA to the geranium plant, and it is actually a synthetic stimulant drug with deadly side effects.
USPLabs, LLC, brought DMAA to the mass-market with OxyElite Pro and a similar product called Jack3D. In 2011, the Department of Defense banned sales of OxyElite Pro on military bases following the deaths of two soldiers who were found to have DMAA in their bloodstream.
One man was a 22 year-old who died of sudden cardiac arrest. The other was a 32 year-old who collapsed during a physical fitness test and died one month later. In August 2013, a military commission determined that DMAA had risks, but did not cause the soldiers’ deaths.
FDA Warning for OxyElite Pro Deaths

Life-threatening side effects linked to OxyElite Pro:
- Liver failure
- Acute hepatitis
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Respiratory failure
- Heart failure
- Seizures
