In July 2022, ShelterLogic announced a recall for 786,000 RIO® Swinging Hammock Chairs after at least 24 people were injured.
What is the Problem?
The chairs were recalled because the legs can collapse if the pins that are provided for assembly are not inserted properly. The manufacturer is asking customers to review the new instructions for assembly at www.Safety.ShelterLogic.com.
How Many People Were Injured?
At least 24 people were injured after falling out of a recalled RIO Swinging Hammock Chair, according to ShelterLogic. The reported injuries include:
- Bruises
- Muscle aches
- Pain
- Head lacerations
- Back strain
- Concussions
- Abrasions (scrapes)
Where Were The Chairs Sold?
RIO Swinging Hammock Chairs were sold between January 2020 and June 2022 for about $40 to $60. They were sold nationwide at store like Blain’s Farm & Fleet, Camping World, Costco, Lowe’s, Tractor Supply Company, and online at Amazon.com, CampingWorld.com, Costco.com, Lowes.com and Walmart.com and other websites.
