What is Asset Bee Pollen?
Asset Bee Pollen is a dietary supplement and weight-loss pill. It is sold in some retail stores and marketed on the website http://www.assetcapsules4u.com/ by Descor, LLC. Asset Bee Pollen is marketed as an “all-natural” weight-loss pill that can also boost energy and immune health. The label says it contains “Pure New Zealand Bee Pollen.”
FDA Safety Warning for Asset Bee Pollen
In May 2014, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a Safety Communication for Asset Bee Pollen after laboratory tests detected sibutramine, an illegal hidden ingredient. It is illegal for dietary supplements to contain prescription drugs.
The FDA warns about the risk of medication interactions and life-threatening cardiovascular side effects:
“Sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke.”
Sibutramine Pulled off the Market in 2010
Sibutramine was once a popular appetite-suppressing medication called Meridia. In October 2010, the FDA published a Safety Communication and pulled sibutramine off the market. They were concerned because the SCOUT clinical trial linked sibutramine to a 16% increased risk of cardiovascular events compared to a placebo.
