There have been numerous cases of patients developing Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) and Transverse Myelitis (TM) following a variety of vaccinations, in particular the flu vaccine. Many of the vaccinations that have been linked to GBS & TM contain Thimerosal. Additionally, Guillain-Barré Syndrome has been heavily linked to the HPV vaccination Gardasil.

Nearly 30 percent of GBS & TM cases currently appear to be associated with viral infections or vaccine injections. Additionally, there is a great deal of literature that essentially confirms the causal relationship between flu shots and Guillian-Barre Syndrome (GBS), which has a high degree of medical similarity to TM.

If these reactions do occur, they typically begin soon after the vaccine inoculation. As of July 2005, people who believe they have been injured by a flu shot or other vaccine can file a claim for compensation from the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.

National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program

The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) was created in 1986 to award compensation to individuals who suffer injuries or death caused by vaccinations. If the VICP committee finds a patient’s injuries were caused by a vaccination, compensation will be awarded for the injured person’s past and future medical needs, future lost wages, and past and future pain and suffering.
