May 5, 2025 — SharkNinja has recalled more than 1.8 million Ninja Pressure Cookers after 106 burn injury reports and dozens of lawsuits were filed by victims nationwide.
Lawsuits claim that the lid is defective because it can be opened when the unit is still pressurized. This can eject the scalding-hot contents of the pot onto anyone nearby, resulting in severe burn injuries.
SharkNinja received more than 100 reports of burn injuries, including more than 50 reports of people who suffered severe burns to their face or body, which poses a risk of lifelong scarring and disfigurement.
According to the recall:
“SharkNinja has received 106 reports of burn injuries, including more than 50 reports of second- or third-degree burns to the face or body, with 26 lawsuits filed.”
SharkNinja is warning consumers to stop using all OP300 Series Ninja Foodi Pressure Cookers. These products are multi-function appliances that combine a pressure cooker and air fryer into one unit.
Consumers can identify the recalled Ninja Foodi Pressure Cookers by locating the model number, which starts with OP300. For example:
- OP300
- OP301
- OP301A
- OP302
- OP302BRN
- OP302HCN
- OP302HAQ
- OP302HW

These pressure cookers were sold nationwide at Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon, Target, other stores and online from January 2019 through March 2025 for about $200.
