Moonlight Companies Recalls Peaches for Listeria Risk
In October 2025, Moonlight Companies announced a nationwide recall for California-grown fresh white, yellow and “peppermint” peaches that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.
Did Anyone Get Sick?
No illnesses were reported when the recall was announced on October 29, 2025, but investigators identified Listeria monocytogenes in the packing facility environment.
What Peaches Were Recalled?
The recall involves fresh California-grown white and yellow peaches that were sold nationwide from September 16 until October 29, 2025.
The peaches were sold individually or in multi-packs. The individual pieces of fruit have PLU Sticker 4401 or 4044. The multi-packs of peaches were sold in plastic bags or bulk cardboard produce boxes.
The recalled products include:
- Moonlight Yellow Peaches
- Moonlight White Peaches
- Moonlight White Peaches (“Peppermint Peach”)
- Kroger Yellow Peaches

Moonlight Peaches were sold at many grocery stores nationwide, including (but not limited to):

Peach Salsa Recalls at Kroger Grocery Stores
Secondary recalls for peach salsas that contain the recalled Moonlight Peach ingredients. These peach salsas were sold at Kroger and other grocery stores that are owned by The Kroger Co.
The peach salsa recalls were announced by the following companies:
- Supreme Produce Peach Salsa — Peach salsa was packaged in 14-oz. Clear “grab-n-go” containers, distributed in certain Kroger stores under the Supreme Produce® brand in Illinois, Colorado, Georgia, Washington, Indiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oregon, and Michigan.
- Snowfruit Peach Salsa — Sold in 16-oz. containers at certain Kroger stores in Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, Idaho, Washington, Arizona, Virginia, West Virginia, Colorado, Wyoming, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama, and Utah. The recall was announced by JFE Franchising Inc., of Houston Texas.

What Should I Do?
Anyone who ate the recalled peaches should contact a healthcare professional if they develop symptoms of a Listeria infection.
The symptoms of a Listeria infection may start on the same day that a contaminated food is eaten, but it can takes up to 10 weeks. The symptoms of Listeria typically include:
- Fever
- Flu-like symptoms (such as muscle aches and fatigue)
- Headache
- Stiff neck
- Confusion
- Loss of balance
- Seizures
Pregnant women may have mild symptoms, or no symptoms, but infection during pregnancy usually leads to a miscarriage, stillbirth, premature delivery, or life-threatening infection of the newborn.
