December 16, 2024 — Anker recalled about 69,000 Soundcore and PowerConf Bluetooth Speakers after reports of fires and a burn injury.
The recall involves Anker Soundcore (A3102) and PowerConf Bluetooth (A3302) Speakers that were sold on Amazon.com in 2023.
Anker said it received 33 reports of the lithium-ion battery in the recalled speakers overheating. Some of the reports involved batteries that started smoking or caused small fires. One person reported a “minor burn injury in connection with an overheating unit,” Anker said.
The recalled speakers were sold exclusively online at Amazon.com from March 2023 through October 2023 for between $28 and $130.
Anker is urging customers to check their speakers to see if they are part of the recall. If so, immediately stop using the speaker and visit the recall website to register for a free replacement speaker.
The recall only involves the lithium-ion battery packs in Anker Soundcore Bluetooth Speakers with models A3102016, A3302011 and A3302031.
