Cauliflower Recalled by Farm Linked to E. coli Outbreak

December 13, 2018 — Adam Bros. Farming, Inc., of Santa Maria, California, recalled cauliflower, red leaf lettuce, and green leaf lettuce harvested from November 27 through November 30, 2018, due to possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7.

What is the Problem?

Lettuce and cauliflower were recalled after investigators determined that sediment on an agricultural water reservoir located at Adam Bros. Farming tested positive for E. coli O157:H7. It is possible that “filtered and treated water from the reservoir may have come in contact with the produce after it was harvested,” according to Adam Bros. None of the filtered, treated water has tested positive for E. coli.

How Many People Are Sick?

Adam Bros. distributed the recalled cauliflowerto wholesalers in Canada, Mexico (Tijuana), and the following U.S. states: Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania.
