DHZJM Baby Loungers Linked to 1 Infant Death
In June 2024, safety officials warned consumers to immediately stop using DHZJM Baby Loungers after one infant death was reported. These baby loungers pose a risk of suffocation, entrapment, falls, and death.
What Happened?
The DHZJM Baby Lounger was linked to one infant death in 2020, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Authorities reported that the infant died in a DHZJM branded baby lounger. The four-month-old baby was “reportedly found unresponsive and face down on a blanket that was placed on top of the lounger,” according to the CPSC Safety Warning.
Deadly Baby Loungers Sold on Amazon by Many Sellers
DHZJM Baby Loungers were sold online at Amazon.com from January 2020 through November 2023 by multiple sellers, including Youlike Baby Store, SUNFLOWER SHOP, Altor Enterprises LLC, Infgreate, SooZon, Humorous Egg, KMOVEON, and Amazon Export Sales LLC.
The name “DHZJM” is printed on a tag sewn onto the exterior of the loungers. CPSC is aware of DHZJM® baby loungers in other styles and printed fabric options.
Chinese Manufacturer Refuses to Recall Baby Loungers
DHZJM Baby Loungers were sold by a Chinese seller, DHZJM Baby Lounger, doing business as Youlike Baby Store. The company “has not agreed to an acceptable recall of the violative products,” according to the safety warning.
What Should I Do?
Parents and caregivers should immediately stop using and destroy all DHZJM Baby Loungers.
This product, and similar baby loungers, violate the federal Safety Standard for Infant Sleep Products because they create an unsafe sleeping environment for infants.
