DREO Space Heaters Recalled After 17 Reports of Fires

In October 2026, DREO recalled about 338,800 DR-HSH015 space heaters in the U.S. due to fire and burn hazards, plus another 36,300 units that were sold in Canada. They were sold at Costco, other stores, and online since September 2025.

What Is the Problem?

Space heaters that overheat or ignite pose a serious fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries or death. On its own recall website, the company explains that “DREO is voluntarily recalling these heaters because the affected products present a safety concern.”

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):

“The recalled space heaters can overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards.”

How Many Fires Were Reported?

DREO said it received 17 reports of DR-HSH015 space heaters igniting or catching on fire. In these reports, there were 3 incidents involving property damage, and 1 person who suffered a burn injury to their hand.

Was My Space Heater Recalled?

The recall involves space heaters with Model number: DR-HSH015 (DREO also calls it the Whole-Room Heater 715). The date of manufacturing is printed on the label (YYYY/MM): 2025/04 through 2026/01 that is located on the underside of the heater.

The heaters are black ceramic electric heaters, about 11.5 inches wide and 13 inches tall. They were sold with a remote control. On the font of unit is the brand-name “DREO”. They were manufactured in Vietnam.

Where Were They Sold?

The heaters were sold from September 2025 through October 2026 for between $70 and $110 at Costco stores nationwide and a variety of websites, such as:

  • Costco.com
  • Dreo.com
  • BestBuy.com
  • Kohls.com
  • Lowes.com
  • QVC.com
  • HomeDepot.com
  • B2BRenew.com

What Should I Do?

Stop using the recalled heaters immediately and contact DREO for a free replacement heater. You will be asked to unplug the heater, destroy it by cutting the electrical cord, and follow instructions to send a photo of the destroyed heater.

You will need to register at recallrtr.com/spaceheater. No receipt is required. If your claim is approved, DREO estimates that delivery of the replacement will take about 10 business days after shipment.
