Eat Smart Salad Bowl Recall
December 15, 2018 — Apio, Inc., of Guadalupe, California, has recalled several types of Eat Smart® Single-Serve Salad Shake Ups™ (salad bowls) due to a possible risk of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
What is the Problem?
The salad bowls were recalled after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) informed the company that 1 random sample of an Eat Smart® Sweet Kale salad bowl with “Best Before” date of Dec 14, 2018 tested positive for Listeria Monocytogenes.
“As a precautionary measure, we are recalling all products produced on the same day, same production line, as the one sample that tested positive by CFIA.”
At the time of the recall, the manufacturer was not aware of any illnesses linked to the recall by health officials.
