Endico Frozen Vegetables Recalled for Listeria Risk

In September 2025, Endico Potatoes Inc. (based in Mount Vernon, New York) announced a recall for 2.5-pound bags of frozen vegetables due to a risk of food poisoning with Listeria bacteria.

What Frozen Vegetables Were Recalled?

The recall involves 2.5-pound clear plastic bags of frozen vegetables that were sold under the Endico® brand-name, including frozen “Mixed Vegetables” and “Peas and Carrots,” with the following info:

  • Endico Peas & Carrots — Sold in 2.5-pound clear plastic bags, Lot 110625, production date 6/11/25, use by date 6/10/27
  • Endico Mixed Vegetables — Sold in 2.5-pound clear plastic bags, lot 170625, production date 6/17/25, use by date 6/16/27

Where Were They Sold?

The recalled Endico frozen vegetables were distributed from July 18, 2025 through August 4, 2025 through local distributors in the states of:

  • New York
  • New Jersey
  • Pennsylvania
  • Connecticut
  • Maryland
  • Washington D.C.
  • Florida

Did Anyone Get Sick?

No illnesses were reported as of September 3, 2025. Instead, the potential risk of contamination with Listeria was discovered during routine sampling by the state of Pennsylvania at a distributor, where a finished product tested positive for Listeria.

Endico Potatoes Inc. said it has halted production while the company and the FDA investigate the source of the contamination.

What is the Risk?

Infections with Listeria can cause a serious and sometimes fatal illness, but it can take up to 10 weeks for symptoms to appear. These symptoms sometimes include gastrointestinal symptoms like other forms of food poisoning, but Listeria may also cause other symptoms involving complications when the bacteria spreads.

According to the FDA:

“Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.”
