August 20, 2025 — Health officials are warning people about a possible risk of food poisoning infections with Listeria bacteria from brie cheese that was recalled by Fromi USA.
The recall involves 12 cases of Brie Royal Faucon (1-kilogram) cheese distributed in New York.
The recalled brie was manufactured with pasteurized cow’s milk and packaged with 2 units per case, with each cheese in a wooden box.
The bulk-sized Brie Royal Faucon cheese may have been sold whole or cut into portions, with Lot Number: 615 on both sides of the wooden box of each cheese and the case, according to the recall.
No illnesses were reported by the manufacturer. The cheese was imported from France to the U.S. by FROMI USA, a company located in New York City.
The recall was initiated after the foreign manufacturer was notified by health authorities of the potential contamination of some of its products with Listeria monocytogenes.
The recalled cheese was distributed and sold to customers at Cheese Plate Brooklyn locations in Park Slope and Caroll Gardens between July 24, 2025 and August 13, 2025.
Health officials are urging anyone who purchased these products to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
