GNC Sued for Selling Fake Supplements

In February 2020, a class action lawsuit was filed against GNC for selling Vitamin E Skin Oil that actually contained mostly vegetable oil (safflower oil), a cheap oil that does not provide the same benefits.

GNC Hit With Lawsuit For Selling Illegal Drugs in “Natural” Supplements

Lawsuits have been filed against GNC for selling “all-natural” supplements that actually contained dangerous illegal drugs like BMPEA, including a GNC supplement lawsuit filed by the Oregon Attorney General in 2015.

GNC Pays $2.25 Million Settlement After DMAA Scandal

One of the most notorious cases against GNC involved OxyElite Pro, a workout and weight-loss pill that contained a stimulant called DMAA.

GNC was eventually ordered to pay a $2.25 million settlement to the Justice Department after initially refusing to stop selling OxyEilte Pro, even after the military banned it when 2 soldiers died of cardiac arrest.

GNC also sold a re-formulated version of OxyElite Pro that was linked to dozens of liver injuries, including a woman who died of liver failure.
