January 14, 2022 — Haifa Smoked Fish has expanded a recall for smoked fish that may be contaminated with Listeria.
The recall involves about Turbot Cold Smoked Fish in 8-oz Packages. The expanded recall involves another 920 pounds of smoked fish from Lots 97, 223, 299, and 321. The original recall also involved Lot 246.
The products were distributed to retail stores in New York and New Jersey.
No illnesses were reported. Instead, the recall was issued after a product tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes during a routine sampling program by New York State Department of Agriculture.
The product is packaged in clear plastic with a gold board that contains sliced Cold Smoked Turbot fish with a blue label that reads “Haifa Smoked Fish & Caviar Turbot Cold Smoked” Net wt. 8 oz/227g. Ingredients: Turbot, Salt and Natural wood smoke.
