What is Hepatitis A?

- Hepatitis A Vaccine: If given within 2 weeks of exposure, the vaccine can help prevent infection. A booster shot is needed 6 months later for long-lasting protection.
- Immune Globulin (IG) Shot: This shot of antibodies destroys the hepatitis A virus and can prevent infection in 85% of patients if given within 2 weeks of exposure.
