August 13, 2024 — Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese recalled a batch of St. Jerome Cheese after it tested positive for Listeria.
Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese warned customers not to eat St. Jerome cheese, batch 231129, because it may be contaminated with the food poisoning bacteria, Listeria monocytogenes.
The cheese tested positive for Listeria during routine testing by the Kentucky Department of Public Health. No illnesses were reported, according to the recall.
The recalled St. Jerome cheese, batch 231129, was sold through wholesalers, retail stores, and the website for Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese.
The cheese was sold in 8-oz. wedges or full 15-pound wheels wrapped in clear plastic. The products have a logo label, a sticker with ingredients, and batch number 231129 on a white label on the side.
Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese is urging customers to return the cheese to the place of purchase for a refund, or throw it away.
