August 5, 2024 — Metro Produce Distributors has recalled fresh guacamole products from Lunds & Byerlys that may be contaminated with Listeria.
The recall involves Lunds & Byerlys guacamole products with a use-by date of August 2, 2024.
There were no reports of food poisoning, but a routine sampling program by the company discovered a risk of Listeria contamination in the finished guacamole products.
The recalled guacamole items include Fresh Guacamole, Fresh Smokin’ Guacamole, Fresh Spicy Guacamole, Pico de Gallo/Guacamole Tray, and Deli Guacamole.
These products were sold in the St. Paul-Minneapolis (Twin Cities area) and St. Cloud at Lunds & Byerlys grocery stores in Minnesota. The guacamole was sold in clear plastic containers and trays.
Fresh guacamole products were also sold at certain “Taco Mas” food bars between July 27 and July 31, 2024.
Lunds & Byerlys customers should throw out the products or return them for a refund.
