Meijer Desktop Heaters Recalled for Burn Injury Risk
In March 2025, Meijer announced a recall for about 6,050 Konwin Desktop Heaters that can fail to turn on, overheat, and catch on fire.
What Happened?
Meijer received 8 reports of fans burning and melting. No injuries were reported, but the problem poses a fire hazard and burn injury risk. According to the recall:
“The heater’s fan can fail to turn on and cause the unit to overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards.”
How To Identify Recalled Konwin Desktop Heaters
The recall involves Konwin Desktop Heaters with model number BHN2133. The model number and name “Konwin” are printed on a label on the bottom of the heater.
Konwin Tabletop Heaters have a white plastic frame, black fan, and a black grill cover. They measure about 12″ high and about 10″ wide.
Where Were They Sold?
The recalled Konwin Desktop Heaters were sold exclusively at Meijer stores in stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Kentucky from September 2024 through January 2025 for $25-$40.
What Should I Do?
Meijer is urging customers to immediately stop using the recalled Konwin Desktop Heaters and return them to any Meijer store for a full refund.
