Merax Murphy Beds Recalled After 2 Injuries Reported
In August 2026, GigaCloud Technology USA recalled approximately 1,250 Merax® Murphy Beds (also known as “wall beds”) due to a risk of serious impact injuries.
The recall involves full-size and twin-size wall-beds with model numbers GX000392AAK, GX000391AAK, and GX000383AAK. They were sold on Amazon.com, HomeDepot.com, Wayfair, Walmart.com, Target.com, Overstock.com, Temu, and other websites from May 2024 through February 2026.
The same beds were also sold under other names, including Euroco, Harper & Bright Designs, Modern Luxe, and Polibi, or with no brand name at all. To determine if your wall-bed is affected by this recall, look for a SKU sticker inside the bed frame.
What is the Problem?
Murphy beds are mounted to the wall and can fold up in to a cabinet, or down into a sleeping position, using a piston-spring lift mechanism. That lift mechanism, as well as proper wall-anchoring, is critical to prevent a serious injury or death.
If there is a failure, a person can be crushed or injured by a bed that weighs hundreds of pounds. The recall warns about the deadly safety risks:
“During assembly or disassembly, the frame of the wall bed can fall onto consumers, posing deadly impact, crush and laceration hazards.”
How Many People Were Injured?
GigaCloud Technology said it received 2 reports of people who were injured when the bed-frame fell during assembly and installation. In both cases, it hadn’t been anchored to the wall yet. The reported injuries include:
- Head, neck, and right shoulder bruising due to an impact
- Head injury due to impact, also scrapes and bruises on the arms

Previous Murphy Bed Recalls Over the Same Hazard

In that case, 2 people were hurt, including one person who needed 8 stitches for a severe laceration. In 2022, a larger recall of Ivy Bronx, Orren Ellis, Stellar Home Furniture, and Wade Logan branded Murphy beds was announced after 146 reports of beds falling or breaking, with 62 injuries.
