March 8, 2017 — About 46,000 Sears Craftsman portable table saws have been recalled because the stand can collapse and cause severe injuries.
The company received 11 reports of the stand collapsing suddenly. Nine people reported injuries to their fingers or hands, broken bones, lacerations, a shoulder strain, and a partial fingernail amputation.
The recalled table saws were sold exclusively at Sears stores nationwide and online from April 2014 through October 2016 for about $200.
The recall involves “15 AMP 10-inch Table Saws” that sit on a black metal foldable stand. The front of the saw has a silver label with the words “Sears Brands Mgt. Corp” and Model No. 137.415030. Serial numbers included in the recall begin with the following letters:
