April 4, 2024 — Two employees of Phillips 66 were severely burned after an oil refinery fire in the Texas Panhandle.
The fire started at around 11:20 a.m. in a processing plant at the oil refinery complex located in Borger, Texas, according to Phillips 66.
The company said it immediately notified emergency responders and the Borger Fire Department. The fire was extinguished by 1:00 p.m.
Two employees were badly burned in the fire and had to be life-flighted for medical treatment at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
