What is the Problem?

Oil refineries are extremely dangerous places to work. The danger also extends to people who live nearby, because they may be exposed to toxic chemicals in the air and water when fires occur.

Workers can suffer a wide range of life-threatening injuries on the job, including devastating burns from fires or explosions, electrocution, toxic chemical exposure, slip and falls, or being hit by falling objects.

Should I File a Lawsuit?

Oil companies are commonly hit by lawsuits after workers are injured. These lawsuits hold companies accountable for compensating workers (or their surviving family members) for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, disabilities, wrongful death, and more.

Can I Get Workers’ Compensation?

Yes, workers who were injured in oil refinery accidents are entitled to workers’ compensation — but they could also be eligible for more money if their injuries were caused by negligence on the part of the oil company or someone else.

How Can a Lawyer Help Me?

There are many examples of negligence (poor training, faulty equipment maintenance, lack of safety procedures, etc.), which is why it is essential to talk to a lawyer as soon as possible after your accident to see if you might quality to file a lawsuit.
