FLEXIMOUNTS Overhead Garage Storage Rack Recall

In June 2022, Loctek recalled about 17,500 FLEXIMOUNTS Overhead Garage Storage Racks after 18 reports of the racks falling from the ceiling when the U-shaped buckles on the supporting cables failed.

No one was injured, but a falling rack poses a risk of causing serious injuries or even death to anyone standing below or nearby. The recalled racks were distributed from October 2020 through April 2022 at Home Depot stores and online retailers.

Monsterrax / SafeRacks Overhead Garage Storage Rack Recall

In April 2022, Eagle Industrial Group Inc. recalled about 12,800 Monsterrax® / SafeRacks® Overhead Garage Storage Racks that can fall and cause serious injuries or deaths.

The recall warns that the “hex bolts in the overhead garage storage racks can be defective, causing the rack to collapse from the ceiling, posing an impact injury hazard.”

SafeRacks/Monsterrax said it has received 55 reports of the racks falling, including 1 report of an injury where the corners of a ceiling-mounted rack fell and bruised and cut a consumer’s face.

The recall involves SafeRacks® / Monsterrax® Overhead Garage Storage Racks. The industrial-strength steel racks attach to the ceiling and are height-adjustable.

They came in 7 sizes including: 4 ft. by 4 ft., 4 ft. by 8 ft., 2 ft. by 6 ft., 3 ft. by 6 ft., 4 ft. by 6 ft., 3 ft. by 8 ft., and 2 ft. by 8 ft. They were sold in two colors, hammertone (gray) or white.

The recalled overhead garage storage racks were sold from September 2021 through December 2021 for about $140 online at Costco.com, amazon.com, saferacks.com, monsterrax.com and more.
