Playtex Nurser Deluxe Breast Pump Recall
Playtex Manufacturing Inc. and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a voluntary recall and a Safety Alert for the Playtex® Nurser Deluxe Double Electric Breast Pump on March 19, 2014.
According to Playtex:
“Consumer safety is a primary objective of Playtex and we are taking this action out of an abundance of caution. The casing on some adapters may become loose and separate, resulting in a potential for electric shock. No injuries have been reported to date.”
What products were recalled?
The recalled AC/DC power adaptors were sold along with the Playtex Nurser Deluxe Double Electric Breast Pump and they were not sold separately. They are marked with serial number P12324-XXXX through P13205-XXXX and production code 1241 through 1324. They were manufactured from November 2012 through July 2013.
Recommendation
If you purchased the recalled AC/DC power adapter and breast pump, you should immediately stop using the power adapter if it shows signs of separating. Contact Playtex for a replacement by calling 1-888-207-1492 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at www.playtexproducts.com.
If you are a retailer, return any remaining Playtex breast pumps with the recalled AC/DC power adapter.
