Robinson Fresh Turnip Greens Test Positive for Listeria
On April 29, 2021, health officials in New York issued a consumer alert after a 16-oz. bag of “Robinson Fresh Turnip Greens” tested positive for Listeria.
Were Any Listeria Illnesses Reported?
No illnesses were reported, but the product may contain Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, which can cause severe food poisoning. The infection may become life-threatening for people with vulnerable immune systems or pregnant women.
What Bags of Turnip Greens May Contain Listeria?
The warning applies to 16-ounce bags of pre-packaged “Robinson Fresh Turnip Greens” with Best-By Date of 4/26/21. The turnip greens were sold at ShopRite in Commack, New York, and possibly other stores in New York State, according to the health department.
