Signature Hardware Shower Seat Recall
December 4, 2018 — Clawfoot Supply LLC, doing business as Signature Hardware, announced a recall for over 7,200 wall-mounted shower seats in the U.S. and Canada due to a fall and injury hazard.
What is the Problem?
Signature Hardware recalled the shower seats because the aluminum hardware that attaches the seat to the wall can corrode. The seat can break off and person can fall, suffer lacerations, or other injuries.
How Many People Were Injured?
There have been at least 194 reports of the wall-mounted shower seats breaking, including 37 people who fell and were not injured. There were 23 reports of people who fell and suffered injuries.

What Shower Seats Were Recalled?
Signature Hardware recalled fold-up, wall-mounted shower seats that are made with teak wood slats joined together by support rods that extend from two wall-mounting brackets.
The recalled shower seats have brushed nickel, chrome, or oil-rubbed bronze finishes on the support rods and bracket covers. They measure 16″ wide by 13.5″ deep, with a width of 11.75″ between the centers of the wall mounting brackets.
SKU number 917726 is printed on purchase receipts and email order confirmations.
Where Were the Shower Seats Sold?
They were sold at Signature Hardware between January 2011 and July 2018 and by Barclay Products Ltd. through its showroom in Gurnee, Illinois from October 2013 and June 2017 for $150 to $160.
