June 27, 2022 — Wegmans has recalled certain Vidalia Onions due to a risk of Listeria contamination.
The recalled onions were sold by the pound in the produce section of the store. They may have a 4 digit PLU sticker on the product (4159 or 4166).
The onions were sold from June 23, 2022 through June 24, 2022 at stores in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and New York.
No illnesses were reported, but infections with Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe and sometimes fatal food poisoning. Pregnant women may also suffer a miscarriage, stillbirth, or a life-threatening infection of the newborn baby.
Wegmans is asking customers to return the product to the customer service desk for a full refund.
