Gerard Granite Ridge Lawsuit Filed in Texas
Willow Greene Homeowners Association (HOA) filed a lawsuit against Gerard Roofing Technologies in February 2013, claiming the Granite Ridge Roofing System is defective and leaky.
The HOA installed the roof on its 25-building, 172-unit complex in 2005. Soon afterward, a number of leaks occurred throughout the complex.
After chasing leaks, they determined that the roofing material itself was leaking. When Willow Greene bought the $1 million roof, it included a lifetime warranty — but when they submitted warranty claims, it took Gerard seven months to send out a representative, who denied the claim.
Allegations raised in the lawsuit include:
- The Granite Ridge roofing system leaks, even when installed correctly in accordance with the manual provided by Gerard
- Willow Greene has “useless roofs that are leaking” and have caused “significant damage” to both the interior and exterior
- These problems were caused by defective design of the Granite Ridge roofing system
- The Granite Ridge roofing system was defective when sold and failed to perform as promised and intended.
