June 24, 2015 — Fourteen brands of bottled spring water have been recalled because they may be contaminated with E. coli.
Niagara Bottling LLC recalled spring water produced at two Pennsylvania plants from June 10-18th, 2015 because the operator at one of their contracted springs failed to notify them about E. coli bacteria at a spring source.
The company says there have been no reports of illness and no positive tests for E. coli in any finished products.
CNN reports that the positive test came from Far Away Springs, a water provider to Niagara. The water tested positive for E. coli on June 10, but came back negative when it was re-tested. Furthermore, 27 additional tests on that day were negative and 175 tests the following week were negative.
