January 30, 2018 — A recall has been issued for the 2018 Polaris RZR XP4 Turbo recreational off-road vehicle (ROV) due to a fire hazard.
Polaris Industries Inc. recalled approximately 560 of the RZR XP4 Turbo off-road vehicles.
According to Polaris, the return fuel line may not be secured properly, which can cause fuel to leak. Fuel that hits an electrical wire or another ignition source can potentially catch on fire.
The problem poses a fire hazard and a burn injury risk to consumers. Polaris has received 1 report of a fire due to an improperly-installed fuel line, but no injuries were reported.
The recalled 2018 RZR XP 4 Turbo has seating for 4 people. The following off-road vehicles are being recalled:
- 2018 RZR XP 4 TURBO EPS 168 — VELOCITY BLUE — Model #Z18VFE92BB
- 2018 RZR XP 4 TURBO EPS 168 — MATTE SUNSET RED — Model #Z18VFE92BS
- 2018 RZR XP 4 TURBO EPS 168 — GHOST GRAY — Model #Z18VFE92BU
The recalled vehicles were sold in the U.S. from September 2017 through October 2017 and cost between $22,500 and $25,500.
The vehicles can be identified by the brand “POLARIS” on the front grill, “DOHC TURBO” and “EPS” on the front fenders, and “POLARIS RZR XP” on the rear fenders.
Polaris is offering a free inspection and repair. In the meantime, consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles.
