Mary B’s Biscuits Recalled for Listeria

January 2018 — Hom/Ade Foods, Inc. voluntary recalled uncooked Mary B’s® biscuit dough products due to potential risk of food poisoning with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. No illnesses have been reported.

List of Recalled Mary B’s Biscuits

The recall was issued after a random sample tested positive for Listeria. The test was conducted by an outside co-packer who manufactured the product.

Where Were Mary B’s Biscuits Sold?

The recalled biscuit products were sold at grocery stores in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Geordia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

Listeria Food Poisoning

Mary B’s biscuits are not ready-to-eat, and baking them should reduce the risk of illness. However, consumers can still get sick from mishandling the biscuit dough before it is baked. The symptoms of Listeria infection in a healthy adult may include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
