350,00 Electric Heated Blankets & Pads Recalled After 17 People Burned

In March 2023, about 350,000 Bedsure Electric Heated Blankets and Heating Pads were recalled due to a fire hazard and a burn injury risk. The problem is that the controller can malfunction and overheat, according to the recall.

What Happened?

There were 137 reports of the blankets and pads catching on fire, burning, melting, overheating, or causing property damage, including 17 people who reported burn injuries.

One person said they suffered 2nd-degree burn injuries, which may cause the skin to look red, blistered, swollen, and extremely painful.

Was My Heated Blanket or Pad Recalled?

The recall involves Bedsure Electric Heating Blankets with model numbers BS-HB5060, BS-HB6284, BS-HB7284, and BS-LV0A.

The recall also involves BedSure Electric Heating Pads with model numbers BS-HP2422, BS-HP1224, and BS-HP2433.

Where Were They Sold?

They were sold online at Amazon.com and BedsureHome.com from August 2022 through November 2022 for between $25 and $110.

What Should I Do?

Consumers should stop using the recalled blankets and heating pads immediately due to the risk of fires and burn injuries. Then contact the company for information on how to register for a refund at safety.bedsurehome.com.
