Countertop Nugget Ice Makers Recalled for Injury Hazard
In October 2023, about 8,800 Countertop Nugget Ice Makers were recalled because the metal blades can break off and go into the ice basket, which poses a laceration hazard.
What is the Problem?
The ice makers were recalled after the manufacturer received 263 reports of the metal blades breaking off the auger and going into the ice basket.
Was Anyone Injured?
No injuries were reported, but people who handle the ice could suffer lacerations (cuts) from touching the sharp metal blades.
Was My Ice Maker Recalled?
The recall involves Gevi Household Countertop Nugget Ice Makers with model number GIMN-1102 and a date code before June 1, 2022.
The ice makers were sold online at Amazon.com from January 2022 through July 2022 for between $300 and $400.
