December 23, 2022 — Crate and Barrel has recalled about 280 cribs because the mattress support pins can fall out and the mattress can drop, which poses an entrapment hazard for babies.
The recall involves the Thornhill Dark Brown and Natural Baby Cribs, which have gold-capped feet and Model Number 304-903.
They were exclusively sold online at www.crateandbarrel.com from September 2021 through October 2022 for about $1,000.
The recall was announced after 6 reports of incidents when the mattress support pins did not fit properly, or fell out of the crib.
No injuries were reported, but the mattress could fall or drop down, which poses a risk of entrapment and other serious injuries to babies in the crib. The baby could fall or get trapped and suffocate to death.
Crate and Barrel is asking consumers to immediately stop using the recalled cribs and contact the company for a full refund or a free replacement.
