Dupray Recalls Steam Cleaners for Burn Injury Hazards
In February 2026, Dupray isused a recall for approximately 651,145 Dupray Neat™ Steam Cleaners due to a risk of boiler ruptures, which can spew steam. This poses a risk of burn injuries and property damage.
What is the Problem?
Dupray warned people to immediately stop using the recalled steam cleaners because the boiler can potentially rupture. This may release scalding-hot steam, which could result in burn injuries to the user.
According to the recall posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):
“The steam cleaner’s boiler can rupture if it is overfilled, corroded and the pressure release valve malfunctions, posing risk of burn hazards or serious injury to users or bystanders.”
How Many People Were Burned?
There wer 15 reports of boiler ruptures, including 7 reports of property damage and 4 people who suffered injuries such as:
- Minor burns
- Bruises
- Lacerations
- Broken wrist
How To Identify Recalled Steam Cleaners
Dupray has recalled certain Neat™ Steam Cleaners with the following information:
- Model No. DUP020WNA
- Batch/Date Code 0118-01 through 0425-05.
- Sold from April 2018 through December 2025
- Sold nationwide online at www.dupray.com. Also sold in stores and online at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Walmart, Amazon.com and other retailers
Canada Also Announces Recall for Dupray Steam Cleaners
Safety officials in Canada also announced a recall for about 96,530 Neat™ Steam Cleaners. Out of the 15 reported incidents involving boiler ruptures and burn injuries, 3 occurred in Canada, according to Health Canada.
What Should I Do?
If you own a Dupray Neat™ Steam Cleaner, immediately stop using it and visit the recall website to check if your unit is affected by the recall.
