Fasando Baby Lounger Linked to Death of Baby Girl

In November 2025, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a Safety Warning for Fasando-brand baby loungers that were sold on Amazon after the tragic death of an infant girl who was found deceased in the lounger.

What is the Problem?

Fasando Baby Loungers were linked to the death of a 2-year-old girl in 2025. According to the CPSC Safety Warning:

“A two-month-old was reportedly found unresponsive after being placed to sleep in a Fasando-branded baby lounger on top of an adult bed.”

Can I Get a Refund?

No. The manufacturer is a company in China that is doing business on Amazon under the name “Fasando.” This company did not respond when U.S. safety officials demanded a recall.

Fasando “has not agreed to recall these baby loungers or offer a remedy to consumers,” according to the CPSC.

The CPSC has also been in contact with Amazon, due to the large number of dangerous baby loungers that remain for sale. The CPSC said it “continues to advise firms to stop sale of non-compliant infant sleep products regardless of the date of manufacture.”

Where Were They Sold?

About 6,200 Fasando Baby Loungers have been sold on Amazon.com and other websites between August 2024 and July 2025 for about $35.

What Should I Do?

Parents and caregivers should immediately stop using the baby loungers. Remove the foam padding, cut the cover in half, and throw it away. Do not sell or give away baby loungers.

Why Does Amazon Still Sell Deadly Baby Loungers?

Baby loungers for sleep have been banned, but Amazon is still a top seller of these products. The products are usually advertised on Amazon and other websites for supervised, awake-time lounging.

However, photos provided by customers in the reviews overwhelmingly show infants asleep in the baby loungers. Many of the photos also depict dangerously unsafe sleeping environments, filled with pillows, stuffed animals, or other objects that could be deadly.

Safe Sleep for Babies

The Safe Sleep for Babies guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatric (AAP) recommends:

  • Place infants on their backs for sleep and in their own sleep space with no other people.
  • Use a crib, bassinet or portable play yard with a firm, flat mattress and a fitted sheet. Avoid sleep on a couch or armchair or in a seating device, like a swing or car safety seat (except while riding in the car)
  • Keep loose blankets, pillows, stuffed toys, bumpers and other soft items out of the sleep space
  • Breastfeed if possible and avoid smoking.
