UPDATE: Remington Hair Dryers Recalled for Electric Shock Hazards
In August 2025, Empower Brands announced a recall for more than 56,000 Remington Hair Dyers due to a risk of electrocution.
The recalled hair dryers were sold exclusively online through Walmart Marketplace, Target Marketplace, and Amazon between March 2024 and June 2025 for between $25 and $32. They have Model D3190DCDN, are purple with black accents, and have 3 black buttons.
What is the Problem?
The recalled hair dryers do not have an immersion protection device, which automatically turns off the hair dryers if they come into contact with water while plugged in. This is designed to reduce the risk of electrocutions, also known as electric shocks, a type of electrical burn.
