Harkla Sensory Swings Recalled After 14 Reports of Injuries

In October 2026, Base Products LLC (doing business as Harkla) announced a recall for about 25,541 children’s sensory swings that were sold in the U.S. because children can fall and suffer serious injuries when the swing detaches from the ceiling.

How Many Kids Were Injured?

Harkla said it has received 29 reports of the swing’s ceiling hook separating from the ceiling mounting plate, including 14 children who fell and suffered injuries. Some of those injuries involved serious head injuries, such as concussions, or broken bones.

What Is the Problem?

The hook that attaches the swing to the ceiling can separate from its mounting plate, which can allow the swing to fall to the ground. The repair kit contains a replacement ceiling hook mounting plate, a safety strap, and updated installation instructions.

In the recall, safety officials explained the hazard as follows:

“The recalled swings’ ceiling hook can separate from its plate, posing a risk of serious injury from a fall hazard.”

What Happened?

Harkla has reported 14 injuries, including 2 concussions (head injuries), one child who suffered a broken arm, and other reports of “bumps and bruises.”

Which Sensory Swings Were Recalled?

The recall only involves Harkla fabric sensory swings with a 4-hole ceiling hook and the following features:

  • Blue fabric compression seat
  • Four-hole hook
  • Ceiling mounting hardware
  • Drop length of 18 to 24 inches
  • SKU number LS-COMP-1BLU or LS-COMP-1BLU-SW printed on the side of the product packaging
